CHINAPLAS 2026

From April 21–24 this year, Chinaplas took place for the 38th time at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China.

Covering an area of over 390,000 square meters, more than 5,000 exhibitors gathered from April 21 to 24, 2026, to showcase this year’s innovations and technologies. The number of visitors was also impressive: with 350,189 attendees, there was an 8.8% increase compared to Chinaplas 2024.

Chinaplas focuses on smart manufacturing, material innovation, and the widespread adoption of bio-based and recycling-oriented solutions. It also demonstrated how AI is evolving from a supporting tool into a core component of manufacturing systems. In doing so, it is playing a pioneering role in reshaping rubber and plastics production. The solutions presented support companies in their transition to truly smart manufacturing, thereby optimizing their efficiency and workforce utilization.

This year,  the trade show also featured a Happy Hour, which further enriched the overall experience and interactive atmosphere. Overall, customer satisfaction was high and the average time spent by visitors increased—not least thanks to the interaction with the robots, the catering offerings, and the general atmosphere on site.
Feedback regarding the motan booth was also entirely positive, both in terms of interaction with new and existing customers and the excellent teamwork within the team.

All in all, the trade show was a complete success, both for motan and for the industry as a whole. We are already looking forward to next year’s Chinaplas, which will once again take place in Shenzhen, China.
