The motan group publishes its first sustainability report

DNK-certified report 2020 covers all topics relating to sustainability within and around the motan group. The importance of this topic has increased in recent years, completely independent of the plastics industry in which the motan group operates. Nevertheless, a clear trend can also be seen within the industry: as recently as in June, the plastics and rubber machinery industry association of the VDMA issued the focus topic "Circular Economy". The motan group also sees itself as responsible for taking actions in this area - sustainably, continuously and measurably.

For the first time in the company history of the motan group, the topics of environmental protection, resource conservation and social responsibility are recorded and evaluated in a holistic report and concrete goals for a sustainable future of the group are defined.

Energy efficiency, resource conservation, social responsibility and environmental awareness have long been anchored in the corporate philosophy. As a family-owned company, work on these topics has been ongoing for many years.

"Particularly as a machine and plant manufacturer in the plastics industry, entrepreneurial action taking into account sustainable and social aspects is very important. Here we always want to remain realistic, authentic and transparent,"

reports motan gruppe CEO Sandra Füllsack.

In the 20-page document, which is certified by the DNK (German Sustainability Code), readers learn, among other things, what CO2 footprint the company leaves behind and what optimisation measures it plans in this regard. “Furthermore, we as a group will focus more on the topic of ‘social responsibility’ and ‘environment’ in the coming months. The results will be recorded and published every two years in a sustainability report. This way, we can provide our partners, suppliers, customers and interested parties with holistic information that summarises and documents all this information,” adds Carl Litherland, CMO of motan holding gmbh.

The report can be downloaded as a PDF from the motan Group website.
