Our industry is beginning to think circular

For some years our industry has been struggling with the poor image of plastics. So it is not surprising that the K’Show has chosen the circular economy as its main focus this year. We can look forward too many innovative solutions being presented by plastics manufacturers and processors at the K'2019. As our slogan "Think Materials Management" states, we too have a responsibility to consider the consequences for raw materials handling and how best to conserve resources.

If we want to achieve a real circular process within the plastics industry, then product manufacturers, machine builders, and plastics processors must work together on an overall concept. This begins with the design of plastic products made from recycled materials and ends with the reintroduction of the used product through recycling, to re-process it into a new product.

Knowledge of a product’s ingredients is essential for recycling. Understanding how to do this provides the other main topic that drives our industry: Industry 4.0. Today, it is already technically possible to identify all manufactured goods through their DNA. We believe that Industry 4.0 enables and ultimately accelerates the circular economy. To this end, we will be presenting numerous new developments that can be used in the areas of Industry 4.0 and the Circular Economy at the exhibition. With these products we also want to achieve our goal of increasing the amount of recycled material used in plastics processing.

We are looking forward to seeing you again at the K'2019 at our stand as well as at our partner’s.

Yours sincerely
